Eating Habits in a Pandemic

For Project 3 I chose to continue on from my Project 2 topic. I will be building on the idea of how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected our eating habits. In Project 2 we analyzed how the author wrote their piece, while in Project 3 we will more be analyzing the content of what they wrote. I’m glad I was able to build on what I had already learned from my pieces as I do think what the authors wrote is very relevant to the times. Even in Project 2 I was trying to avoid writing about the content, so it was easy for me to get started on this project. However, because the pandemic is a more recent event, there are not a lot of strong supporting academic articles. But I was able to find some good ones that I am able to use in my paper even with the limited amount due to the lack of time for research to be built on. The only real struggle I’ve had so far was with my keyword search and having to figure out exactly what to put to find what I was looking for. The assignment we did around this though did help me be successful in doing so. Even though there is limited research done due to the recentness of the pandemic, I was surprised to find projects and academic sources that were from the start of it all. I was definitely expecting for them to be more towards the “end”, more recent to today. I think it is very important to note that even though COVID-19 is such an unknown, there are actually a good number of similarities to events humans have gone through before. Regardless of the disease itself, humanity has gone through pandemics before and the social standings are still pretty similar even with the 100-year difference since the Spanish Flu pandemic in the early 1900s.
